Wargame Flags of the Mexican-American War Available Now From Battle Flag

One of the great things about designing wargame flags is getting to work with the likes of Architects of War and 1st Corps.  Like the previous ACW “Bloody Lane” sheet of wargame flags that was done especially for Ernie at Architects of War these Mexican American wargame flags have been done specifically at the request of Simon and Michael at 1st Corps.

Complimenting 1st Corps superb range of 25mm Mexican-American War figures, these are the first in a series wargame flag sheets that will cover the Regiments of both the United States and the Mexican forces of the War.

The Latest Wargaming flags from Battle Flag: The Flags of The Confederacy at Bloody Lane, Antietam, 17th September 1862.

The latest American Civil war sheet of wargaming flags from Battle Flag  offers the gamer and collector the flags of not one but two famous Confederate Brigades.

The Brigades of General Anderson’s North Carolinians and General Rodes’s Alabamians are both included. Famous for their heroic stand, and indeed huge losses during the Battle of Antietam, at the sunken road that would  come to become known tereafter as “Bloody Lane “ such was the level of carnage.

The Battle of Antietam, or Sharpsburg as the Confederates would call it, on the 17th September 1862, would be the bloodiest battle in American military history with over 23,000 casualties. More than twice as many Americans were killed or mortally wounded in combat at Antietam day as in the War of 1812, the Mexican War, and the Spanish-American War combined.

There are no less than 15 beautifully rendered and detailed flags on this sheet, 5 second Nationals, 6 Second issue bunting Battle Flags (two of which are Regimental specific), 3 North Carolina State flags; one of which is the heavily scrolled flag of Colonel Tew’s 2nd North Carolinians, and one 1st National of Company B the 5th Alabama.

The Regiments Represented are:

Rodes's Brigade
Brig.-Gen. R. E. Rodes
  • 3d Ala., Col. C. A. Battle
  • 5th Ala., Maj. E. L. Hobson
  • 6th Ala., Col. J. B. Gordon, Lieut.-Col. J. N. Lightfoot
  • 12th Ala., Col. B. B. Gayle

The Latest Thirty Years War Wargame Flags from Battle Flag

It has been extremely busy here at Battle Flag for the last week or so. That busy in fact that I have had to buy another printer, to run in tandem, to ensure that the orders get out on time. Even with several large orders to fulfill the second printer has ensured that we are still getting individual customers orders off to them within 24 hrs.

With the printers running up to 12 hours a day there hasn’t exactly been a lot of time to attend to the design of new flags let alone the blog.

However working into the wee small hours, over the past weekend, this week sees the release of 9 new wargame flags for the Thirty Years War on the now familiar 3 flag sheet collectors’ sheet.

The Swedish generals out there will be pleased to see the release of the Vastgota Cavalry, Mitschefall Infantry and the Saxe-Weimar Infantry sets of wargame flags in both 25mm/28mm and 15mm.

As always other sizes are available upon request.
